I personally like running anything from 400 meters to 1600 meters.

They seem just short enough for me to go fast, but not too short where my slow starts will kill me.

What are your favorite events / distances?

The 200 was the only event where I was somewhat competitive. I couldn't sprint very well, so I actually ran the 200 at less than 2x my 100 time. I guess I just built up momentum after the first 100!

I was a pole vaulter though so the only time when running mattered was the 40 or so meters there!

I am 18 years old and almost out of high school. Ive ran Cross-country and track all four years. I wouldnt classify myself as the best runner, but over the years ive groan to love running. This year my fastest 5k time was 17:38, and have averaged around 30-45 mile a week. My first CC season my fastest time was 22:30.. Now that my final track season is almost done, ive decided to take on my next goal and run a marathon. Most likely the Chicago Marathon.
Anyways....I really need some help in choosing a training schedual for my first marathon. Ive researched alittle on the internet, but im not sure which one is right for me. The marathon is in this season , and any advice to help me, i would appreciate it.
