It's for beginners and the author is Nike(5 KM ARE 3.1 MILES)

should I begin very slowly anyways even though I practice sports regularly? (squash, swim, tennis, rowing and canoe) I am afraid of hurting my ankle or something like that and of course I need to train my breath

You should be fine with that plan. Depending on your fitness level, you may even want to step it up a notch.

Just start out slowly for the first week and see how you feel.
