well I want to loose weight by running... how can I loose about 20 KG .. I need a nice shedule of practice ?

I would suggest going for about a 3 mile run Monday, Thursday, Friday for the first two weeks. Then the next 2 weeks move it up to 4-5 miles.

Then after that try to run 4 out of the 5 days during the week.

Then move your distance up, and then just slowly move up the amount of miles and the number of days that you go running. There is no real need for speed work because you are running to lose weight.

I just run 7 days a week in the summer and i have noticed that i have lost weight but then again it was for a different cause

Run 25 to 30 miles a week. According to statistics from the National Weight Control Registry, which studies people who have lost at least 30 pounds and kept the weight off, individuals who succeed in their weight-loss efforts burn about 2,800 calories a week through planned exercise. Note that you don't have to run fast or win races, you simply have to be disciplined enough to put in 25 to 30 miles a week of relaxed running.

I can barely walk a 1/2 block at the weight that I am at now. What would all of you suggest that I do to get myself started up again. I used to be a daily runner but I have let myself go and had one pregnancy so far.

My suggestion for anyone that is starting running is to take it slow. If you can't run at first try walking, if that is an issue you may want to talk to your physician and see what they suggest for you to start working out. Water aerobics are a great exercise and is something that I do in the off season.

i suggest you do strength training (weights) too when you run. I have read that you need 3x a week of cardio minimum of 30mins and as weeks passes by, increase your minutes of running as well as the intensity of it. you would lose weight for sure. try having a balanced diet too, cut servings. :) i hope this helps.

i am trying to lose weight too... i have 4 weeks left... need to lose 10lbs... which for some people, is easy to lose but for me - not. I cheat once in a while but i dont binge on eating :P

Small portions of food at regular intervals. Regular exercise at least 20 minutes of running a day.

have heavy breakfast, then lite lunch and then too lite dinner.

exercise regularly, atleast 15-20 mins of running or brisk walking. and sit ups, start with 40-50 situps daily and then increase
