Do you run with socks or no socks? How does athletes foot come into play?

I couldn't imagine running without socks. I've used low socks a few times (without thinking) and I ended up with bloody socks at the end of the run, due to the shoe's abrasion!

Ooooh.... that must have hurt! Sounds like a dancers foot actually. I'll make sure I wear long socks!

Ouch, CoachLevi! That's exactly why you'll never catch me in short socks while running (but I do like wearing them when I'm not running).

I like wearing short socks but the worst is when you have new dress shoes and you're out all day in them. Talk about pain :mad:. So because of those past experiences I make sure I wear medium or high socks just to be safe.

Besides the excrutiating friction of not wearing a pair of socks while running, your feet get really sweatey and stink, and I saw someone mention athlete's foot earlier. If you feel like socks keep your feet hot then you can try talc foot powder, that works great.

I always wear sock and I even buy extra thick ones that will absorb the abuse that I am putting my feet through during training. I really could not imagine what a foot without socks would have to look like on an avid runner.

I always wear socks. My shoes would smell terrible if I didn't since my feet sweat so bad when I am running. I could not imagine the beating that my feet would take as well.

same with me :D so i use thick socks whilst running, they prevent my shoes to get wet when my feet sweat like hell

Athlete's foot is there. I have problem once every 2 weeks or so.
