View Full Version : abdominal cramps
when i run too much like around 12-20 miles somewhere in between that distance i get abdominal cramps... I want to get rid of those it slows me down on the race. I hate it ... It goes away, but what is the best way to avoid these. Can't drink alot of water before the race.

Do you perform proper stretches and excercises before getting on the track?

I get side stitches sometimes while I run. What helps me is to lean forward and breath deep. Are you getting enough water, maybe?

Based on what I've heard from a good source abdominal craps usually happen when you're muscle body out of oxygen. So it's important to drink products like gatorade to keep your stored water in your body balanced.

I get them normally aroudn 11 miles, I just keep my body straight up perpendicular to the groudn and use deep breathign to help.
