Hi everyone! I'm looking for some help in trying to avoid my cravings around the holidays..I'm usually good when it comes to avoiding sweets but when there is a dessert table FULL of goodies in front of me..I can't control myself. i was actually watching one of those tv fitness reality shows last year around Christmas time and they gave a tip about curbing your cravings this time of year..basically you pick your favorite craving..and you indulge in that ONLY..for example if ur on a low carb diet then u pick one carb u can indulge in on that one day..you'll enjoy ur favorite but at the same time ur not having pasta, potatoes and desssert..make sense???

I do the same thing... if I'm standing beside the dessert tray. The simple solution is not to stand beside the food ;)

Another thing you could try is chewing some gum once you finish the meal.

lots and lots of gum and water. if you cant put anything more in your stomach you wont be craving much so keep a water bottle with you. and gum kinda helps a sweet tooth.

Fitness TV shows are pretty good in giving advice...ave you seen the commercials for the diettribe one on lifetime? The first episode starts tonight and it looks pretty entertaining. It has Jessie Pavelka and the therapist from celeb fit club lol: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv3OqEhpQls
Also, the national body challenge on discovery health..anyone seen ads for this?

I actually caught the show half way thru..I like it a lot..I was so happy for the girls..I really want them to do well..

It also makes me want to do something about my weight..!
