Can you run marathons with a music player?

I always wondered if you can do a marathon while listening to music, or if that is against the rules.

I do mostly fun runs so I am probably not the best person to answer this. In the fun runs I always have but in the few marathons that I have done I don't remember seeing anyone with their music so it was probably not allowed.

It depends on the event. It's becoming more common to ban mp3 players, but there are still quite a few events where they are allowed.

i tried out in one and they didnt allow me to use dem..
i still dont know why ?? !!!
