Hi all, quick question, i seem to always be very cold in my hands and feet after running, the longer i run the worse it gets, they are fine whilst training but very cold after, i was wondering if salt was an issue and that helped with cramp but not so much with this? Ive had it a long time and it comes and goes, just wondering if anyone else suffered and sorted it? As an indication of my running level i can do a half marathon in under 2 hrs, so nothing amazing but..

ps: this happens with cycling too

and before you ask, yes i am running with shoes and socks on :)

Thanks

this actually happens to me sometimes as well. i think the only thing wrong would maybe be low blood pressure or circulation, considering blood flow to the hands and feet is LAST because they are the end of your arm and leg.

but the only thing i can think of (before testing it) would be to do some warm-ups before running/cycling such as jumping jacks, push-ups, sit-ups, anything like that to get the blood pumping.

This does seem to be a circulation issue.. are you a woman by chance? Women naturally seem to have colder hands and feet because, as I've read, their heat is kept more towards the core in case they ever have a baby and need to keep it warm.

So as you're running the blood may flow just fine to your feet and hands because you're moving them and using them over and over.. but when you stop the blood eventually wants to go back to normal and it brings the heat back to your core..

I'm not a doctor or anything but those are just my thoughts

Do you feel dizzy too? Then, the blood glucose could be a problem. Or otherwise, make sure your blood pressure is all fine.http://www.techcrunchies.com/half-marathon-training.gif (http://half-marathon-training.blogspot.com/)

Hmm, it seems a serious issue. Yeah seems to me a circulation problem but if you have a chance ask your physician about it. Perhaps you can shorten your exercise and see if you have the same issues as well.

Its kind off same thing with what i've been through btw i had consultant my physician and have recovered from this issue from some medicines and tips. I would recommend you to urgently get an physician and tell him your problems which you're facing currently.
