I got a MRI on my leg and they say I tore my right quad muscle. Do you know if it will take long to heal since I hurt it in April and it still hurts now, and what to do to heal it quicker.

Did the doctor give you any exercises to do? I have known a few people to have this injury and they had some exercises to follow that really seemed to help. If the doctor did give you some don't ingnore them do them as much as you can. I would think that the common healing time for something like that would be about 8 weeks. Just a guess though!

I am a minimalist when it comes to medications, but I do use them appropriately when needed. When I had a hip injury, I was told to take 600-800mg of Motrin 4 times a day for a whole month! I did and I healed.

Here comes my unprofessional opinion:

The muscle is inflamed and swollen. Motrin reduces the inflammation allowing healing to occur. If a muscle is constantly inflamed, healing will be slower. Motrin is hard on your liver or kidneys or both, and I know that after being on a dose such as above, you need to gradually wean yourself off it.

At the very least, you should take motrin AFTER your run to help reduce swelling and allow healing to occur. :)

better do an operation to heal it quickly.
