Ok so here is my dilemma. I feel like I could go out right now and run 5 miles BUT then not run again for 2 months. I haven't been running on a regular basis in months but I really would like to train for a half marathon or a marathon. My biggest feat is sticking with it. I stay dedicated to lifting weights 3 days a week but when it comes to cardio(running) I just put it off or don't feel like it.

I just need some advice on how to start up again.. I don't know if I start with too much(too many miles or too many days a week) that I get burnt out on it and it turns me off of running for a few weeks or what. But like I said before I feel like I don't need to start at a "beginner" stage. So if you have any advice for me I would love to hear it. Thanks

It is really a gradual process, if you begin with too much distance or too often, you will burn out quickly. It is important that you do have a routine though, because soon enough that routine will become more of a habit.
Try going for light runs, maybe 25-40 mins, 3 times per week, and do this for 2-3 weeks. Then either increase your time, or increase your frequency. It really up to you, and what you want to achieve. If you are wanting to be a serious runner, then you will really have to dedicate yourself and commit to a serious routine. Otherwise, if you start out gradual, you will begin to be addicted and soon enough you will just do it because you have too!
