View Full Version : achy knees
I just started running again after a long layoff. I am going to attempt to run a race this summer with a friend that is more than 5 miles. The problem I am experiencing is my knees hurt from the pounding of the pavement. I purchased new Asics and hopefully that will help. Does anybody have any helpful hints to keep the knees from aching? Thanks

Take some advil, and buy new insoles that have more cushion in them. You can buy them at places like CVS.

no problem dog.........let me no how your knees feel after you try my ideas.
About 3 weeks after I started running this time, I had terrible pain in my knees, despite taking off a week. I went to a running store and was told the shoes I was wearing had too much stability and weren't letting me move the way I needed. I'm getting new shoes tomorrow and have my fingers crossed! Is there a running-specific store in your area? They put you on a treadmill and watch how your feet move and can help you find the right pair for you.
