Sodas contain nil nutritive values but contain some useless calories. Parents and teachers have to encourage children to drink fresh fruit juices instead of carbonated water.

Exactly, that carbonation and bad caffeine is horrible for your body, not to mention all those other nasty ingredients like sugar, aspartame (just sounds bad) and other crap.
I haven't drank a pop in over a year.

I know that our school benefits from having the coca-cola machines in the school, because they have a contract saying that the school will not sell any pepsi products in return. Coca-cola company then pays the school so much money to be able to sponsor events and make some extra cash.
I cannot see my school taking out the pop machines, there definetly would be some very disapointed students. People would probably start bringing their own pop from home, and drinking it, which in turn would hurt the school because the students would be able to purchase the pop at a cheaper price and the school would not be getting any of that money.

I am so glad these are no longer an option at kost schools- they are nothing but junk for your body! I cut them out completely 9 years ago and have never missed them since!
