This summer I was running pretty good, I was hitting 40 miles almost every week. I ran an easy 18 flat 5k without any speedwork. After that I stepped up the mileage a little more and was just gearing up for some great fall racing when I had to have a spinal tap(cautionary procedure for an unrelated sympton I had, results were negative). After the tap I was layed up for a 9 days with spinal tap associated headache. After the time off I got back into running easy but obviously with the time off just did not feel the same. I figured I'd get back into it but I just keep getting worse. A week after my layoff I ran a 5K and suffered through it in 21:21! I attempted a 7.5 mile run a few days later and had to quit at 5 miles(and I'm no pansy). After that I figured I'd take it even easier and ran no more than 3.5 miles 5 times a week. 3 Weeks later and I'm still stuck having a REALLY hard time with easy 4 mile runs. Does anyone have any advice for me? Do you think there is a nutrient I could be missing or do you think I should see a doctor? Anything will be greatly appreciated.
